During a freezing cold storm in Missouri, prisoners were being sent out to shovel snow at all hours of the day while small utility vehicles with snow plows and brushes remained idle. The air temperature was below 10 degrees and the wind-chill was -10 degrees continuously from Friday until Sunday.

Amid growing calls for the abolition of ICE, Rep. Delia Ramirez is calling for the entire DHS to be dismantled. Highlighting how much experience the officers who killed Renee Good and Alex Pretti had, Ramirez said, “DHS was built to violate our rights and has been empowered to act with impunity.”

Maher Tarabishi, who has been detained by ICE since October, was the primary caretaker of his disabled adult child, Wael.

On Jan. 23, Wael died from complications related to Pompe disease, a rare genetic condition.

ICE has now denied Maher’s request to attend his funeral, his attorney says.

I think what a lot of folks miss is how profitable deportation is for the corporations involved & the politicians they're backing.

Holding people, physically removing them, is cost for the taxpayer & profit into the pockets of the worst people you can imagine.

After executing Alex Pretti on Saturday, ICE has shifted to primarily targeting bus stops and elementary schools in my community this week. I cannot overstate how much of the ICE activity in my community is just targeting places where little kids are.

We've been celebrating partial victories for 14 months, but this is the first time the entire regime focused its power on one goal but was repelled by a powerful nonviolent force of organized people. I get shit is still bad, but damn how can someone not be inspired by this.

Our opponent has a lot of money and power at its disposal, it's easy to feel hopeless.

Hopeless people don't fight.

Victories, even small ones, show that the enemy is not invulnerable.
