All, I say this firmly, but kindly:

Democrats have a serious problem in that whenever something like this happens, we turn on each other and go full knives out.

Ask yourself who that benefits. No one. We need to coalition build and cure ballots to help House races right now.

Focus. Please.

We all live in surveillance states. Americans in a particularly hostile one. While my second advice is to act like America is a fallen democracy, my first advice is not to tell the little automated cop in your pocket what you might do about it.

Super important thing folks. Don't talk about action on unsecured platforms. Do not trust anyone that approaches you about action that you don't already know personally. They will be trying to root us out and kill us. Don't let them.

QTBIPOC authors? This is the time for you to double down on your content. I don't give a damn if you are only writing fanfic. Every time you are writing something that is about QTBIPOC being happy or winning or being empowered? That in of itself is resistance.

Huge love to everyone who did anything to try to stop this. We developed some muscles through this work, and we'll keep using them. Never stop sticking up for yourselves and your neighbors.

The Mr. Rogers advice for moments of crisis is a useful thing to remember right now.

Look for the helpers.

Look for the people organizing to protect the most vulnerable.

Look for the people who have been concretely planning for how to respond, and are ready to implement.

Join them, if you can.
