For almost half a decade, those protections provided opportunities for people with disabilities to change the world, and disabled people won’t be silent as those protections get ripped away.

Thousands of wheelchairs are damaged on flights every year. New federal rules could prevent that. “You really can’t put a price tag on somebody’s independence and freedom to move,” one Massachusetts advocate said.

Yesterday, the U.S. Department of Transportation made a really exciting announcement about air travel for people who use wheelchairs.
