I appreciate your perspective (and sharing it). My first day as an instructional designer is tomorrow - I think I'm in a similar boat, perspectivewise, and will likely have many convos about this

(kidding - I assumed it was a rights issue when other OSU details were accurate. Loved the book; it was so human)
Moving and changing local airports has introduced a new O'Hare quirk, which has now happened 2 subsequent times: arrival flight lands an hour early. Park and wait for scheduled gate to be open. Get to gate well past scheduled arrival time.
At least today's layover isn't 10 minutes.
Saw Yo-Yo Ma perform tonight. He was exquisite. Wonderful to step away from life's worries for a few hours and be enchanted by Bach (and others).

But if we extend the "how do you pronounce graphic" to other letters, we'd be changing the pronunciation of a lot of vowels in things like NASA or FBI or scuba.

15.10.2025 18:31 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0My last flight into ORD landed 40 minutes early. We parked for 20 minutes and they let people use the bathroom as we waited for the gate to be available before resuming taxiing. We got to the gate 10 minutes late.

01.09.2025 17:53 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I did that route, getting on at Fargo. My partner and I (mid-30s) were usually the youngest people in the dining car. Wasn't uncommon for older travelers to say they preferred it to the hassle of air travel. We'd fly if we had to do it again, unless stopping at Glacier NP.

My partner got me a Sodastream to try to economize my soda vice. I used to buy Pepsi in bulk for similar reasons.
Tried accessing all the URLs listed in an author's note from a book published in 2000. Was not expecting the only working one to be an angelfire link.

I am also not a big fan of Chicago-style deep dish, but it's more tolerable.

Oh, Early Modern English. Will my students have comments about "how greatly I Iong after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ"? I imagine so.

To avoid the two-body-problem, I'm looking at changing careers. Wasn't expecting to see a bunch of grifter academies on LinkedIn looking for instructional designers or curriculum designers.
