We’ve talked about this before, but we wanted to expand on it a little more. Late last week, Elon Musk’s so-called “Department of Government Efficiency” (DOGE) effectively took control of the Department of the Interior without a single Senate confirmation, public hearing, or vote.

Musk is rapidly pushing forward the privatization of space and satellite operations that have long been managed by the NOAA. DOGE has acquired confidential data from NOAA’s competitors—an alarming development that has further cemented SpaceX’s dominance in the space and satellite industry.

Then I hate to see what a huge mistake would look like.

This means Trump/Musk could legally cancel funding for any program for any reason.

This is unacceptable.

A shutdown is bad. This bill is worse.

We have to talk about the absolutely insane CR the GOP has proposed.

This bill formally abdicates Congressional authority over the budget and allows the Executive to sequester funds for any reason or no reason at all.
