More than 1,300 people still remain imprisoned in Belarus today, including 24 anarchists and antifascists.

Dziadok was taken by bus to the Lithuanian border and expelled. KGB officers tore up his passport, as they did for several prisoners that day, deliberately complicating their lives in exile. Most of those deported had no legal status in the EU, though Lithuania has granted them temporary visas.

He was released on 22.08.2015, but got sentenced again on 10.11.2021, Dziadok for his participation in 2020 Belarusian protests. Although his release had been nominally scheduled for April, a new case was opened against him, prolonging his detention, in torture conditions and near-total isolation.

In November 2011 international human right organizations recognized Mikola a political prisoner. During his 5-year imprisonment, he was transferred to several correctional facilities.

During the investigation, the charges were changed to the organization of an illegal protest and symbolic direct actions against the state buildings, including the destruction of property. He did not admit his guilt.

Mikola Dziadok is an activist of Belarusian anarchist movement. He was detained on September 3, 2010, and arrested on suspicion of the attack on the Russian Embassy in Minsk with Molotov Cocktails.

We are happy to hear that anarchist Mikola Dziadok was among 52 political prisoners released and deported from Belarus to Lithuania on 11 September 2025.
