my art feels a bit like a stranger right now, I’m not certain of the direction I want to take it in, but I’m so excited to discover it

it’s been hard to know what my art looks like traditionally - it’s in a weird space between cartoon and anime so there’s not really a good comparison for what my sketches should look like, but sketchbooking has been helping my work so much that now I’m addicted to it

just realised i never posted this! akuma expression sheet inspired by rin faces from early blue exorcist!

tumblr users love to portray that site as unabashedly weird and inclusive etc etc, like "the last good social media", which might be true unless you're black or a trans woman, and especially not if you're both. tumblr is intensely transmisogynistic in a way i haven't witnessed on any other site

i really think people who were failed by the system and left behind in special/slower classes that kinda abused them need a voice and I honestly wish people who were once gifted kids stop trying to be apart of the conversation.

sonic characters are so fun bc theyre literally just Shapes so u can get soooo quirky and bendy with them its great!!!

i've never felt my heart sink more, i was hoping this guy would be genuinely interested in animation and he had some show idea that he wanted to ramble to someone about, only to find out that he was talking about making animation with AI and didn't even have any story ideas.. such a bummer.

just a awe-inspiring lack of knowledge about the medium he had "ideas" for, at one point i had to pull out my tablet to show him how drawing layers worked since the idea of character animation and backgrounds being made seperately was for some reason really confusing him.

it was myself, an intern, and one of the studios execs painstakingly outlining the entire animation pipeline and trying to emphasise to him that his idea of producing animation with AI just wouldn't be feasible right now, as he seemed just shocked and baffled at how many steps there were.

met one at a works drinks the other day, after he had mentioned wanting to talk to the animation team because he "had an idea" (using AI to make animation) - and i ended up having to explain to him the difference between 2D animation and 3D animation.
