there are occasions where what I'm feeling is too intense, so I have to block it off... which just makes me seem emotionless. far from the popular perception. empathy slides into sympathy.

disagree... and am against communism (where "the state" owns means of production and manages top-down), so against what the current administration is attempting. Socialism, in some form, is preferable. Society must have the means for accountability - that's not present in communism

I understand... I never went to highschool dances because I couldn't understand what people were saying and I was later sick from the high volume. (bonus was I spent time in the back seat instead 😜)

call me autistic, but I'm still unclear on what the "divide" is here. The greatest harm re autistics is 1) societal ignorance of autism, 2) massive misinformation, and 3) ignorance by med professionals/counselors. my doc is autistic, but shy when I asked directly. typicals would have misgivings

I don't agree with "disability" as a blanket view of autism but I can't find a better term. I don't see it as disabling, tho it is for many. two problems plague me: communication/theory of mind and aversion to socializing. these aren't unique to autism, but they are more pronounced for me.

ADHD Dx age 50, PTSD at 52, autism 54 by psychologist and myers-briggs. Professional life, as you can imagine, was a disappointment.

the US is now a giant Milgram Experiment. I urge you to read about it. It uncovered a frightening aspect of human nature. we are still at the start, we still have the agency to end it, but not for very much longer. "power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely" is an apt summary/warning

In a conversation, I may not "find" the word I need at first, then find it in a sentence or two, then fail to find it a few more sentences later. Like a loose plug in my mind. I used to have a photographic mem: I could see the page where the info is, but the word or phrase I need is white space!
