Unlike the UK Sky News, Sky News Australia is hideously right-wing and basically the Fox News of Australia. It is cable only though (which isn't that popular) so has limited reach and isn't taken seriously by anyone.

I would love to do something like this but Australian airports are capitalist behemoths that don't deserve anyone's free labour, so I refuse.

It's a position taken by people who have an unfounded belief that they are uniquely attuned to the threat/impact of this and the rest of us are idiots.

The govt will do literally anything apart from reflect on how their own action (or lack thereof) has resulted in these types of events.

+1 for all of this. The whole concept of social media has been run into the ground by capitalism, hyper-curation and chronically-online behaviour.

My guess is also, Ukraine being Ukraine, they knew they would revamp it, and wanted more attention on the revamp than the original.
