I'm sad to say that fans in Boston did not react today the way they did after Habs fans loudly booed the anthem at the start of the Iraq War, which was to sing the Canadian anthem as loud and proud as is it were our own. I was hoping we'd remember :(

I want to clarify that I'm not saying this is not a significant thing. But as a lifelong Bruins fan, I have definitely heard the US anthem booed in Montreal before now.

This is in Montreal though, there's a decent amount of precedence for booing the US Anthem there.

Honestly though Canada did this years ago and they're doing just fine. My only issue is he's not doing it with a coherent plan.

The thing that would make sense though is to phase them out slowly with a plan, not to just announce we're not making more one day

the other day I was yelling about current events, like ya do, and I shouted "argh, it's chaos!" But a second after, without thinking really, I added your wife's refrain "...be kind." It calmed me some. Almost felt like an action I could take. Like we're not helpless.

I don't know how many people watched the pre show content as well, but really the whole thing was unapologetically black. Other than Gaga anyway. It was great.

Also, honestly... and small protest in a small town in America is dangerous. We're likely very outnumbered, and the other side is armed. Safety is numbers is key.
