This concludes my personal inktober challenge of illustrating my favourite quotes. I slightly cheated as rather than drawing a fresh piece I went back and added it to one of the first things I did way back when my art story began.

Just seen my neighbours, in the backyard, wearing bathrobes, huddled over a BBQ, wafting at the food on the grill with a dustpan trying to get the flames up. It's also 9c (48f) outside. Clearly I've forgotten what a wild Saturday night looks like anymore.

"You're entirely bonkers. But I'll tell you a secret. All the best people are." I enjoyed this interpretation of "we all are mad here" from the film version of Alice in Wonderland. And can attest to it's sentiment from all the wonderful, interesting & bonkers people I've had the pleasure of knowing

It seemed appropriate to write the quote in gold ink.

"It'll be alright in the end, and if it's not alright it's not the end" is a quote that has been attributed to a few different people and said in different ways but any words that keep someone going one day more are worth using. Alongside a lotus flower a symbol of hope and resilience.

"He was determined to discover the underlying logic behind the universe, which was going to be hard, because there wasn't one" - could pick hundreds of quotes from Terry Pratchett. His level of wit, word play and perspectives on things has inspired me greatly.

"Be afraid, but do it anyway" a Carrie Fisher quote that has been a mantra at many points in my life. Coupled with cowardly dog who reminds me of one of the strongest and bravest people I know.

For inktober I thought l'd illustrate quotes that have lived in my head. Whenever that black dog weighs on me and just can't find the energy or will to do anything, even something normally fun, I often think of sad Lisa Simpson and the incredulous gym teacher who said "too sad, to play dodgeball?!"

Now I'm not saying id make a better all power cosmic being but I at least wouldn't arrange a rapture for a Tuesday. Making people work a Monday and deal with stuff they put off the previous week is not it. Sundays around 9pm or nothing!

I'm at a point where I need any new work I can get, even if it's just to give me stuff show to potential clients/customers. Graphics, web, anything I am qualified to take on, really.

Basically, I'm now offering judgment-free pay-what-you-want commission work for anyone willing to give me a shot.

To the people putting out their washing during a massive high wind rain storm and including this little guy who is holding on for dear life in case their knackers fall off. I don't think your clothes are getting dry any time soon. But I reckon your elf on a shelf won't give you any grief this year.

Spending too much mental energy on Kid Rocks song Cocky. Bragging about having more money than Matchbox 20 is such a strangely specific level of wealth that implies research and a weird degree of arrogance and humility. Also it doesn't appear to be true either. So yeah. Hows things with you?
