Obsessed with how the light catches the damask 😍 When you write historical fiction, I think you get drawn to these intimate details. This was taken last weekend at Kensington Palace.

On this latest round of agent revisions, one of my actions was to get my 99k word count under 90k without any structural changes… and with ten chapters still to go, I’ve done it!! 🎉🎉🎉

Spent 30 minutes before work editing a page. Grabbing those little moments really do add up!

Mystery solved! The cat had jumped off the wall and cannon balled through the roof! The cat is fine and the hole is being repaired. 🛠️

The neighbour’s cat has been found in my shed. I have not been in the shed for weeks. The cat was last seen that morning. Stay tuned for updates.

The revision process is an important learning process of editing and tweaking, but I do miss the unrestrained joy of diving into a first draft and just discovering a story. Hope I can do that again this year.
