The preconception that office work isn't REAL work is wild. Like, some days I think so much my head hurts. Some days I work so much my eyes hurt. I don't think that's less valid than working so hard your knees hurt. Work is work.

I worked 24 ish hours this past weekend and 12 hours yesterday, but we have a client live in the system! Hype! Now I collapse.

I don't bother with expressing/enforcing my gender at work or with family, but he saw my pronouns (they/she) on my LinkedIn and asked me about it a while ago. I explained that it's not something I worry about at work but he's doing it anyway :)

Sheriffs/police/marshalls showed up at the church I've been going to for an ICE/ERO raid.
The church has 1 FT and 1 PT employee (pastor and office admin).
So... Why? Well, a Hispanic church rents the fellowship hall and a few rooms for their church employees.

Work is crazy. Moving is stressful.
This is part of why I've never gotten tattoos, because I think like whenever I get to this level of stress, I would just get another tattoo.

It has been 1 year since I got laid off from my old job. I love my new job so much more :) there may not be a reason for everything that happens, but we can find a reason in everything that happened.

My struggle with BlueSky is that I rarely have 300 words or less to say on any topic. I would have been an EXCELLENT essayist in the 1700's if I'd been born a wealthy white man during that time period.

Some days you wake up, your ankle hurts for no reason, you have to feed the cats before spending 8 hours doing things that don't matter to make money for things you need, and you realize, this is just it for the next 3 decades or so.
