Between all the talk about "AI slop", degrading Google search quality, challenges like Perplexity etc, I find myself wondering:

How did we ever convince ourselves into manifesting "SEO" as an industry? All that time and energy, wasted in wordsmithing, not to communicate, but to appease the algo ..

From the PoV of a consumer of these systems, it sometimes feels to me that we move from one stack to another, exchanging one set of problems for another, but without significantly moving the needle on the end user experience / cost / value prop

Why is monitoring / observability still going through so much churn / re-invention? Like, are the problems changing fundamentally or dramatically newer solutions becoming available or something else?
