Dr. Yalow’s brilliance, perseverance, and passion continue to inspire generations of women in radiology and beyond. Her legacy reminds us that innovation knows no boundaries when fueled by curiosity and determination.

Her achievements were recognized at the highest levels, earning her the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1977, the ACR Gold Medal in 1993, and the RSNA Gold Medal in 1994.

Her contributions transformed endocrinology, diabetes research, and nuclear medicine, paving the way for countless medical advancements.

Dr. Yalow’s groundbreaking work led to the development of radioimmunoassay (RIA), a technique that revolutionized medical diagnostics by allowing the precise measurement of hormones in the body.
