I’m still in the process of moving but I’ve been making time to play Silent Hill f in the evenings and omg what a fascinating game! I’m still on my second play-through, and right out the gate so much was different. I’m really excited to get at least 2 more endings and then deep dive into the lore

It’s a good reminder than an editor can only do so much. It’s up to me as the author to write the story well, and I can only do that by learning and growing, well, writing!

Part of the reason for the early release was that I just didn’t know as much. I spent a lot of money on a copy edit and after I got my MS back, I was afraid to change things lest I introduced new issues. I’m changing things anyway after all this time anyway lmao

I’ve been hard at work editing A Matter of Time. I’m so glad I’m doing this, because I’m finally excited to start sharing it, when for months I couldn’t really say that. I definitely published before it was done cooking—but it was my first book and I was anxious to get it out there!

Make sure you find something to take joy in - however small - whether it’s a pet, an anime, a book, whatever.

So what that it took me 9 months to get here! So what if it took me 3 years to write my first book period! I have no formal schooling in writing and I am severely disabled. I think for all those limitations, I’m pulling off something amazing and tbh, I’m proud of myself for that. 🥰🥰🥰

I hate how I handled the central character. She’s vital to the story, but I had such a hard time connecting with her and that showed in my writing. The changes I’m making are breathing new life into her, and I’m genuinely excited about that!

I know better now! I’m an author no matter the sales or publication. I wrote a book, and right now I am taking the time to make it better using what I’ve learned.

I do hate that it’s taken me this long to really ‘get it.’ And yes I know A Matter of Time will never be perfect, but omg

Really was a journey I didn’t truly understand until about 3 years in AND EVEN THEN here I am, still working on it.

A lot of the push I felt was to get it published ASAP because I had it in my head that I wouldn’t truly be an author until it was published…

A Matter of Time has been described as my life’s work. The series has been developed over the course of 19 years, but actually writing the first book really threw me for a loop for how hard that was. Going from writing with someone else as a fun way to pass the time to solo writing seriously…

You ever not read your book for 9 months, write a whole other book, then return to the first book and become filled with The Horror at the state you published in? Yeah.

Fortunately I’ve learned enough to fix it (I hope), even though it means rewriting several more chapters than I’d anticipated. 🫠

Did some MAJOR editing to an AMoT chapter today and I am fucking exhausted. I had planned on just lightly going over several chapters today but upon reading this one, I knew I could do better. So I did. 😎

Man, these early chapters of A Matter of Time are so grisly. I love them 🥰

I definitely can’t pretend like I knew what I was doing with A Matter of Time. A lot of my storytelling was from instinct, gut feelings, w/e you wanna call it. I feel now like I know how to hone those instincts into something sharper. Still don’t know everything but I’m definitely better than I was!

I’ve been taking a nice break to be depressed af and also play Borderlands 4 lol. I think by tomorrow I’ll be ready to dive back into A Matter of Time. I know every author struggles with self doubt and I know mine won this battle but I also feel like the extra attention will be worth it in the end~

Last night I finished the first draft of Severance :) We’re sitting at 197,637 words, which is more than I’d like, but that’s what editing is for!

Time to put this book in a box and pull out my A Matter of Time manuscript to make some long awaited changes!

I’ve kinda been posting to social media to get used to doing so after many years of avoiding it. Even now I don’t really think of posting and just wanna live my life, but the Book Requires Sacrifices From Us All!

Anyway, back to writing~

I posted a #dailywordcount on TikTok but then my partner and I wrote some more after midnight. In the last 24 hours we wrote 2928 words and finished the last chapter of the book! Next and final thing is the epilogue! #writingprocess #booksky #indieauthor

Life got kinda nuts last week so my goal of finishing the first draft kinda got put on hold. We are back on track today though!

In other news, I finally caved to peer pressure and bought Boulder’s Gate 3 to play with friends 👀 okay okay I really just wanted to play with the character creator shhh
