As LSA 2026 takes place in my hometown, I can't help but to think of the last LSA meeting I attended, 2020, also in New Orleans

I don't want to imply that I think I am somehow inherently better because of this ability to make shifts like these. But I do think it is pretty important that humans are able to identify problems and respond to them to the best of their ability. That's kind of the basis of society and gov't imo

Until 2016, I never wanted to live anywhere but my hometown. I would travel a lot sure, but I always held such pride and loyalty to my city that I couldn't imagine leaving. But the pressures of governmental, professional, and educational institutions there led me to shed that loyalty and move.

I was an early user of Facebook. But as soon as I realized that the way I was using it was not good for the mental health of myself and my loved ones, I stepped away. When Meta/Facebook grew problematic, I deactivated.
