So the use of AI in Arc Raiders is closer to using machine learning to solve Chess, or have the TF2 Soldier beat Rocketjump Maps than making anything more artistic

While the AI is generating the art of how the bones of those characters move, that is restricted by that 3d Model's artist.

To hopefully clear it up a bit, my understanding is that AI was used for the movement and animations of the robotic enemies. That is, not generative AI but an active ML being given a body to control and a task, then iterating generations. That then makes a lightweight non-learning model to be used

Perhaps:
"We must bring accountability to those with power and wealth. Too long have they been stomping on the agreements and contracts that bind the rest of us with society and if the system won't do it now then we must change the system as well. Immunity for them means justice for noone."

A simple law that says that registered payment processors must charge the same fees to all their merchant accounts and do not have the power to declare a merchant as selling illegal goods.

Mastercard shouldn't be allowed to declare what art is and is not legal. Legality is the realm of government.

And exactly the opposite. The goal when targeting elected officials is to get legislation that gets payment processor companies removed as the arbiter of what is legal and illegal to sell.

Regulation requiring payment processors to treat all storefronts equally is one avenue for victory.

A Crown Corporation or Nationalized Service would be akin to the USPS for the US's example.

General separation from the rest of the government and merely used as a vector for the service. USPS has no idea what is in the box, only that a box went between two addresses. But for banks and stores.

The only acceptable alternative would be a nationalized payment processor to be a public option to undercut the ability for payment processors to control the market.

Yellow paint feels less artificial and more natural in grunge urban sprawls that do make use of other colors beyond greys and browns. Art direction can mask the obviousness of the trope here.

But in wild open world games, actual yellow paint (which I have seen done) is jarring.

On one hand we have games like Portal 2 that are using very subtle pattern cues as guidance for the player as to how to solve puzzles or the next step forward.

Flip side we have early Assassin Creed games ensuring that decoration is objects and not environment, so you know the distinction.

You're right on in that assessment, but while yellow paint is an answer it isn't -the- answer.

This is a problem that I believe was rising up in 2.5D platformers before we reached this level of fidelity causing this problem. And it's solved by art direction.

But that has been my view for a long time. A populace doesn't become more conservative with age. We know the exact opposite to be true, that as one ages they become more entrenched in their beliefs and views.

It's that collaborators to power are lower on the list of targets for that power.

I just also want to point out, it isn't just wealth.

If you are not conservative you are likely to engage in progressive rights movements, which give a higher likelihood of being targeted by the state, discriminated against by employers, or otherwise denied in ways leading to an earlier death.

Our requirements for the bare minimum have grown, yes. That is good, yes. I am not talking about that.

I am talking about how the Extreme Poverty metric fails to account for the changes in requirement to access the things someone needs to just "Not Die" in the wealthier nations.

Basic survival.

Basic human needs to literally not die- food, water, and shelter- haven't changed. What is needed to access those things has. The metric of Extreme Poverty has failed to adapt to the changes in requirements of access

A USA citizen can die from exposure to WBT of 96°F but be out of extreme poverty

Our notions of poverty have changed because the living conditions of global society has changed as a whole, which is a good thing.

But the basic measures of access to the basic needs of life and survival of individuals hasn't changed, and the metrics we used have failed to adapt to our changes.

Using this metric's longterm trend to express the rapid recent decline in Extreme Poverty washes over the fact that people in wealthier nations can meet those same access denials and be above that line, and the recent increase in people being pushed closer to those denials.

The point of it all is, poverty kills in a very inhumane way. Using the historical metric of extreme poverty to express this positive longterm trend overlooks the fact that the metric was made as a measure to collect the line for where access to water, food, shelter, and basic care is unavailable.

Looking at longterm trends is a powerful tool to see how the systems built have impacted the world but not one single factor is in play for these trends.

And looking at trends we need to account for short-term trends as well, as large scale effects take time to manifest.

The global measure of extreme poverty has dropped by leaps and bound, yes. But we have focused on that as a win instead of seeing how global markets have changed regional demands on personal income to meet basic needs.

We moved to a different playing field but left the goalposts behind.

I do not like this talking point as I find it pretty weak and flimsy.

No question that uplifting the socioeconomic conditions globally is important- but in the USA you can be homeless, food insecure, and counted as "not in extreme poverty." It ignores changes in regional poverty lines.
