Jarrod lives 13km from work. His commute often takes more than an hour About one in five people in this suburb are unemployed, while a nearby employment precinct is almost unreachable without public transport links.

"The Department of Transport says it is investigating ways to improve bus links between the rail network and destinations such as the Avalon Airport."
-- This isn't complicated. We're not inventing teleports. It needs our politicians to see the benefits and agree to fund it. www.abc.net.au/news/...

The 800 bus upgrade is nothing short of a complete Peter Parker victory. The thing is though there's lots of route 800's around Melbourne, 40-50 lines with no sunday service. Every transport advocate needs to adopt their nearest bus with no sunday service and then just start harping on about it

All of these ones are brand new services, with the first time Juneyao Airlines have served Australia (and Melbourne)

And as an added note, China Southern Airlines is also starting service from Beijing-Daxing to #Sydney a day earlier than Melbourne's service (also seasonal)

I just hope the next thing I don't hear is a replacement bus breaking down. T_T

It also feels like you're in more control of what content you want to see, rather than the application controlling it all the time.

+ less toxic (for now), so that's another plus

Hate to be nitpicking, but would it better to say the JQ A321 was a NEO variant? JQ also have the A321CEO variant as well

For those curious, this one was the last bubble bus in service to have the SmartBus livery. These had their Smartbus PIDS removed ages and had not been on DART for a while, so seeing this one final time was a rare treat!

An old icon of #Melbourne β€˜s streets

Commonly referred to as bubbles, these units spent a good amount of time servicing CBD services to the eastern suburbs.

This pic was taken 1 week ago with bus 643 on route 906. As of Thursday, this bus has now been decommissioned

It helps also that you have airlines like Japan Airlines expanding services to Australia.

Melbourne’s a good example of that, with recently added frequencies to (increase to 5-6x weekly? Correct me if I’m wrong) with bigger planes also coming in

Victorian government denies company on the verge of walking away from myki upgrade Trouble is reportedly brewing with the US-based company responsible for upgrading Victoria's myki ticketing system, raising fears of delays and cost blowouts.

Upgrades to #Myki including bank card payment options and weekly fare capping are essential to make public transport easier to use - especially for new and occasional users, including both locals and tourists. www.abc.net.au/news/...

Ideally, added frequencies should reduce how long it takes to get to somewhere

Of course, it may take a bit longer than by car, but the more frequencies and better accessibility to using it (eg not relying solely on a Myki card) the better
