Waiting for the depressed robots
16.02.2026 00:49 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's been a rough week, here's some stickers. OG news people get it.
13.02.2026 04:57 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0I donβt watch TV very much but am watching what I can of the Olympics. There are sooo many bad AI commercials.
13.02.2026 05:38 β π 10 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0It's been a rough week, here's some stickers. OG news people get it.
13.02.2026 04:57 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0This is the best.
Love the attribution, too!
This is why sometimes in the middle of a dynamic situation you may hear or read βlaw enforcementβ without the specific agency or dept in msm until we can verify/figure out who is who.
07.02.2026 22:57 β π 6 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0Who has MacKenzie Scottβs number? Time to start a rival paper and hire off anyone still at WaPo.
07.02.2026 22:50 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβ¦
07.02.2026 22:49 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 1Same to you. Itβs such a high price, but I would do it again.
07.02.2026 04:15 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Lost my dog, my good girl, three days ago. They donβt mean to, but they take part of our hearts with them when they leave.
07.02.2026 03:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Caption continued: The video was deleted and the president later told reporters he hadnβt seen the ending, but that he βdidnβt make a mistakeβ.
07.02.2026 03:13 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0U.S. President Trump is lit white with a flash as microphones from media hover below him while he responds to questions as snow falls around him after dark. Marine One sits ready behind him to take him to Air Force One, onto Mar-A-Lago.
Before boarding Marine One for travel to Mar-A-Lago, President Trump speaks to members of the media hours after posting a racist video clip portraying former President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama as apes on his social media in Washington, DC, Feb 6, 2026. Photo: Leah Milis for Reuters
07.02.2026 03:13 β π 7 π 1 π¬ 1 π 1The photo team was incredible. One of the gems of the paper and known for their work across the industry. Itβs incomprehensible that they are gone. A sound business decision? I think no.
06.02.2026 20:27 β π 11 π 9 π¬ 0 π 0Itβs not an either or.
06.02.2026 06:39 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0With all due respect, I would need some sources/evidence.
06.02.2026 02:30 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Helpful things about msm: unethical behavior gets you fired and/or blacklisted. It takes longer because we must verify any claim we make, including how to spell your dogβs name. Big companies can pay for equipment, time, lawyers, travel, health insurance.
06.02.2026 02:19 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Listen, we need everyone. We need independent journalists, activist journalists, mainstream media (yes I said it), citizen journalists. Everyone has a place in the ecosystem of a free society.
06.02.2026 02:19 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Unfortunately we have been absent from social media as it has matured, leaving a vacuum filled by opinion pieces and TV personalities. Most of the public do not know the majority of us are just hard working, traumatized, underpaid people who just deeply believe in journalism.
06.02.2026 02:08 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 1It feels good to have a consistent, simple villain. Makes people feel like there is order and meaning in the world. Not saying there arenβt major systemic issues w msm, but the bashing is actually damaging. And as a photog I often take the heat in real life.
06.02.2026 02:03 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Will Lewis was too busy to join the call to tell his staff heβs destroying the @washingtonpost sports department yesterday β¦ but he did have time to walk the red carpet at NFL Honors here in San Francisco today. Amazing.

06.02.2026 00:48 β π 440 π 152 π¬ 21 π 17Actually there is a good portion that has to do with budget and burn out. Itβs not as conspiratorial as you might think.
06.02.2026 01:10 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Youβre right, though. We canβt just keep pushing the last bits of money we have at each other while the ultra wealthy keep taking more and more of it.
06.02.2026 01:07 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0This isnβt even a gofundme, itβs non profits throwing in funds. My gofundme made about 3k. So I had to ask the journalists which piece of gear they needed the most. I was able to give out a few soft armor vests, one helmet, like 10 IFAKs, some safety glassesβ¦ a first aid kit alone costs about $100
05.02.2026 23:18 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This is great but also when I was organizing a fund to outfit about 30 freelancers with PPE the cost was about 50k. I didnβt even come close to hitting that.
05.02.2026 23:11 β π 12 π 3 π¬ 1 π 0This.
(The Washington Post fired its photojournalists today, as part of Bezo's demolition of his own newspaper.)
Yet another reason newsrooms with serious financial backing are so important: They can simply send staff to see if Nike's claims about working conditions in their factories are true and retain lawyers for Nike's inevitable reaction.
04.02.2026 23:49 β π 70 π 17 π¬ 0 π 0Reread your first comment. The individual talents of 300 people doing good journalism does matter. Youβre right that this is not their fault. Words matter.
05.02.2026 06:18 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thank you for sharing your expertise.
05.02.2026 06:15 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I wonβt tag them because they have been having people on social media telling them to kill themselves all day.
05.02.2026 06:12 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0No, you didnβt. Say it with your real name, identity to the people who have told interesting, groundbreaking, horrifying, amusing, inspiring stories the last few years. Go ahead and tell them they donβt do journalism.
