Tbh I didn’t get reeled in before episode 3. It took a rewatch for me to appreciate episodes 1-2?

(Although on said rewatch - and subsequent ones - I started bawling when I got to the apartment scene of episode 2, for some reason)

Watching your breasts inflate before your eyes sure brings out a few giggles amidst the trauma of it all.

Additional note: expanders are then replaced with actual silicone implants, which feel MUCH nicer and DON’T spend their time rotating out of symmetry… 🙄

#3 - Tissue expanders

Silicone implants are placed UNDER the pectoral muscle, which needs to be stretched using tissue expanders. Somewhat firm, inflatable implants with a metal port that needs to be localized with a magnet to then inject 50-100 ml saline every 2-3 weeks.

#2 - Ice baths

I really thought chemo would be the worst treatment I had to go through. It wasn’t - full bilateral mastectomy was.

But close second? Dipping all 10 fingers into ice buckets for 2-3h straight so my nails wouldn’t fall off. What the actual F?
