You can eat all organic food, drink green juice every day, do yoga, get vitamin D and touch grassโ€ฆ and still become disabled.

Wellness culture canโ€™t save you from disability. Whatโ€™s worse, most wellness โ€œgurusโ€ will blame you when you become ill.

Wellness culture is toxic & eugenics adjacent.

When nothing seems to help, I go and look at a stonecutter hammering away at his rock perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it. Yet at the hundred and first blow it will split in two, and I know it was not that blow that did it, but all that had gone before.

Sean Duffy says he hasn't seen enough data to believe in the benefits of bike lanes. So we put together this cheat sheet to help him out โ€” mostly using information from his own department.

Ultimately, Freemanโ€™s column isnโ€™t pitiful because it rubs salt in the woundโ€”itโ€™s pitiful because it lays bare the true aim of the anti-trans movement. This was never about policy or bathrooms or youth sports. Itโ€™s about a cohort of people who feel culture shifting beneath their feet, who were raised in a world where casual cruelty toward transgender people was normalized, and who now find themselves resentful that society has moved on. Rather than reflect or grow, they double down, demanding that their revulsion be seen as virtueโ€”that their discomfort be not only accepted but celebrated. Freemanโ€™s yearning for social validation, cloaked in the language of righteous indignation, reveals the movementโ€™s hollow core. The title of her piece says it all: this isnโ€™t about the law, itโ€™s about the isolation that comes from being wrong. And no court decisionโ€”no matter how cruelโ€”will win back the friendships lost to hate, or rescue those who chose the wrong side of history from the consequences of that choice.

From my latest piece.

The true motivating energy behind the anti-trans activists of today.

It is not a โ€œDEIโ€ rollback it is the resegregation of American universities. Headline writers could at least be honest about this.

"Abolish ICE" sounded like a radical demand to Democrats, though ICE itself only dates to 2003.

Today, it should be clear to even the most deluded liberals that if you establish institutions for the sole purpose of brutalizing people, authoritarians will inevitably use them to consolidate power.

OPINION | I Came to College Eager to Debate. I Found Self-Censorship Instead. The consequences for saying something outside the norm can be steep. I met Stephen Wiecek at our debate club. He's an outgoing, formidable first-year debater who often stays after meetings to help clean up. He's also conservative. At U.Va., where only 9 percent of students surveyed described themselves as a "strong
Republican" or "weak Republican, that puts him in the minority. He told me that he has often "straight-up lied" about his beliefs to avoid conflict. Sometimes it's at a party, sometimes it's at an a cappella rehearsal, and sometimes it's in the classroom. When politics comes up, "I just kind of go into survival mode," he said. "I tense up a lot more, because I've got to think very carefully about
how I word things. It's very anxiety inducing."

that op-ed featured chilling anecdotes like this one, which if you read closely you will note contain *not so much as a hint of any actual "consequences," steep or otherwise, this kid faced.* Just ... people disagreed with him, I guess?

anyway, now students are being kidnapped and disappeared.

I just cried in my office after having another student in here talk about precautions they're taking about their status. I have received calls all week from people who need their names removed off publications or letters I was part of organizing. I feel sick and helpless and so so angry.
