Yeah finecast was awful, because GW was trying to make it cost effective. It did not work. It's why the expert resin kits are so spendy.

All the highest detail quality warhammer kits are the hand-cast resin 'expert' kits.

Hand cast resin still beats injection mould. Injection moulds are C&C'd, so their complexity and nuance is limited by how many bajillion hours your want the C&C tool to mill out the metal mould. I believe there's also a hardening step that can blunt the detail (judging by Archon studio's models).

Assembling some Cast-Resin terrain kits today, and I'm sorry but for detail these are still king. Better than anything the best 3d printer outputs. Better than injection moulded plastic.

For micro-texture, surface variation, edge fidelity. It's just peak.

And by day 4 of doing this my lower back pain was gone. It has not come back, even for a day, ever since. I just do hamstring stretches 1-2x a day. It's wild. 5 mins a day to prevent the worst thing about my physical existence I suffered with for almost 15 years.

What's maddening is that I have personal evidence for the efficacy of it. After I started a personal trainer for a while a year ago, he said "Oh you have chronically tight hamstrings from sitting all day. that's why you have back pain".

And so I did hamstring stretch sequences literally 10x a day.

It's so frustrating that the solution to almost anything you'd see a physical therapist for is:

Take the exercises they tell you do to.

Actually do them in like 5-7 sessions a day for 30+ minutes.

Repeat for several weeks.

Did the nuclear option of physical self care this morning re: my arm, and spent over an hour doing deep focused active stretching on it. Wrist, elbow, shoulder, back.

The throb in some areas is still there, but I don't think I've had this much relief from it in almost 9 days.
