Question I've run into with translation - How would you guys handle the *extremely* indirect and high-context nature of Japanese love language? Would you keep it as is, backhanded allusions and all, to preserve the text, or rewrite it to be more explicit, because that's how it'd be in English?

That's kinda what makes BS2 so brilliant. The sheer depravity of the setting is so overwhelming that you end up reflecting instead on the rare moments of genuine love that can be found, no matter how faint they can be. As the subtitle says, it's a Wonderland for a Beloved You.
