I built my whole office out of KALLAX shelves, with tabletops and legs and some custom cutouts.

Das ist leider das Los des Außendienstmitarbeiters... Ich würde ja gerne noch öfter, aber kann eben aufgrund der Abwesenheit meist nicht. Noch ein Grund mehr, dann aber umso mehr zu tun, und sich nicht auf "geht ja auch sonst ohne mich" zu berufen.

Ich wundere mich auch immer wieder über mein (auch weibliches!) Umfeld, welches mit Verwunderung reagiert, wenn ich berichte, dass ich Sonntags gerne (!!!) 2 - 3 Stunden in der Küche stehe, um ein schönes Essen zu zaubern. Dann kommt immer nur ein: "Als MANN?"

Solche Menschen würde ich dann auch gerne eher als "Erzeuger" denn als "Väter" titulieren. Denn zum Vater sein gehört das alles dazu. Für mich war es jedenfalls selbstverständlich, wenn eines unserer Kids nachts Aufmerksamkeit gebraucht hat, aufzustehen! Auch wenn ich morgens arbeiten musste.

Went #bouldering with my kids for the first time in ages. Heck, I'm totally out of shape. While I used to be able to climb an fb 6a+ route with (relative) ease, today I had to give up on several 4c routes.
And my 13yo son beat me 😭

Cars a just a money pit ... but damn, you still need them - at least if you're not living in an urban or suburban area.

When your airplane engine stalls during approach ... after some thorough troubleshooting, we discovered one carburetor keeps getting flooded, but we still don't know why. So the plane is grounded for the time being 😔

It's a shame that nowadays it becomes more affordable to visit cons abroad than in your own country...

I don't blame the EF-staff, don't get me wrong here. But prices in Germany are skyrocketing, and this is just one of the results.

Now since #Eurofurence is coming close, I am feeling some regret that I won't be attending this year ... Haven't really met a lot of my fellow fuzzballs for a very long time now, and I feel like I'm missing out on a lot.
