Pathfinder 2e has extensive customization! And the best part, there aren't any bad or trap choices. The game's design means basically every character style is viable and enjoyable. Hope your first experience is amazing and that you have many more!

I grab any interesting tidbits I can find and convert them to pf2e. Some of the encounters and story bits are really interesting, but I much prefer Pathfinder for the actual gameplay.

They trounsed the owlbear in a round, but the mage brought them to their knees and they were almost tpked twice. One pc did end up dying because of failed death saves, they couldn't get to her to heal her in time. We will miss Melanie the Elf Champion.

The players searched a delapidated manor house, fought a zombie owlbear, dealt with a magical trap, were hit with a curse, and the final fight was a fog filled battle with a mage. #dnd #ttrpg

I'm going to be running a #pathfinder2e one-shot today at a FLGS and I'm so excited to meet some new players. I've got Pregens and maps and tokens! I love running one-shots and it's going to be great! This is how my setup usually looks. I'm running a converted #dnd5e adventure by @dmdave.bsky.social

It seems like the biggest issue is that the game's item design isn't what you expected and that can be understandable. But that isn't necessarily the problem of the game system's design. That is a problem of how the game system's design was communicated to you. It is a solvable problem.

If you come across a staff where only some of the spells are on the occult list, GMs and players can work together to replace them with similar themed spells, but I don't think that will be an issue.
And crafting rules can be used as well.

Normally staves don't have a spell tradition attached to them. They gain the tradition of the person who prepares them.

Most spells of a similar theme share the same traditions and the divine spell list has the most exclusive spells, so the occult spells will most likely be in other lists.

Could you elaborate? Can't you use any staff that has occult spells in it? And none of the staves in the GM Core specify a class requirement.

My #pathfinder2e players are going through the famous #dnd adventure Lost Mines of Phandelver that I converted and modified. They are about to deal with the Redbrands in Phandalin and I wrote two notes for them to find. I definitely used some of the advice from the Chunky Funster on YouTube for it.

I can't wait for the Remastered Secrets of Magic #pathfinder2e book. I know they made a bunch of changes already in the Errata, but I like having everything in one place. So much changed in the book due to the #dnd OGL fiasco.

I haven't checked yet, has the psychic been remastered?

#pathfinder GMs out there, how many of you use the supplemental books (like Book of the Dead or Rage of Elements) in your games and what kind of experience have you had with your players?
I love the stuff in those books, but I don't want to overwhelm my new players with options.

Was this before or after The Book of the Dead? If after, was this as an alternative for the Vampire Archetype, or part of it?

Tonight, I am going to be running another one-shot at a FLGS. I am running Masque of Worms by Arcane Library that I personally converted to #pathfinder2e. Arcane Library makes #dnd5e adventures and #shadowdark adventures and Kelsey's writing is awesome.

Its been months and things are still crazy. But I am finally running #Pathfinder2e games again. I have really missed my #ttrpg fix, and I was getting discouraged. Finding new players/groups in an area you aren't familiar with sucks! But don't get discouraged, keep at it, go to venues.

I am still not settled in the new house, but I can't wait any longer. I need to get my #pathfinder2e #ttrpg fix, so I am going to run a one-shot at a local game shop.

But any practical advice would depend on the prevalence and effectiveness of magical healing in your game world.
Does magic just speed up healing or does it restore flesh? Does it make the pain go away or just numb it? Is the restoration perfect or can there be flaws and on what scale?

There isn't really an existing system for this, and adding something can be fraught with pitfalls. What you would be doing is essentially lowering a player's effective level and this can skew combat encounter planning.

Adding something like this should be discussed in session 0.
