Been making great progress in the past week, but not much that shows in screenshots. I did finish an unlockable background selector, though. There will be real background images in the final version, but I did a color swap for now.

Right now, I'm just trying to get the game to code completion, so that's why there's more placeholders than when I added a new menu during September.

I'm finally getting underway with visible changes. The new screens aren't much to look at, but they are functional!

Well, sort of. The prestige menu does let you spend perk points, but the perks aren't implemented yet.

I was trying to avoid tweaking numbers for now, and I know people who play incremental games tend to be very patient. However, I think having wait times that scale to just shy of 1 year might be a little too much waiting for most players.

I know I haven't updated in a while. And that's partially because I've had a lot of analysis to do, and a major number rebalance to work on. So, I haven't had much to actually "show" lately.

Honestly, I think I should use a shader for the other color changes in the game. It's easier to do than I thought.

Bonus #ScreenshotSaturday post, I also made some changes to the side menu.

I added a "buy multiple" feature for incubators. When I did, I decided to clean up the breeding menu UI so that the button was more consistent with the other menus.

Not really a screenshot, as it's not in the game yet, but I'd say it counts. I finished a species that will be added to the game in the next round of new species. No preview on the colors because I haven't picked any out yet.

It doesn't really do a whole lot right now, but this more compact version of this selector should fit into the new menu better.

Also, it looks way better, especially the "not discovered" one. That red line on the last version was starting to get on my nerves.

Huh. I managed to participate in #ScreenshotSaturday twice in a row. It's been a little while since that's happened.

Wow. I haven't done a #ScrenshotSaturday in a minute.

This week I'm fine-tuning a new feature - temporary bonuses. While I can't show the effects in still images, I can show off the new icons.

I also updated the filter menu's art assets.

To summarize the new features:

- A bonus was added for discovering new morphs
- A pause button was added to the breeding interface
- A filter was implemented for the upgrades menu to make it less cluttered.

I plan on having further updates spread out over a longer period of time, but the issues fixed in this update are fairly simple, and have a big effect on the player experience.

So, hopefully, this gives me a better baseline while I shift my focus primarily towards the next round of art assets.

Thanks to everyone who tried the Alpha build of Idle Exotics! I've been getting great feedback and I'm working on a hotfix for some common issues.
