House Speaker Mike Johnson signed bill cutting $186B from SNAP in July 2025 Users shared this true claim amid uncertainty regarding whether Americans would receive federal food benefits during the 2025 government shutdown.

It's no coincidence, they targeted SNAP months ago.

I'm not a Nobel winning economist, but it seems to me the world's largest retailer and the worlds largest delivery services laying off hundreds of thousands right before the busiest retail and delivery season of the year is perhaps not an optimistic indicator of Trump's promised "Golden Age"

Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) actually told the press that Democrats would be the ones hurt most by losing SNAP.

To be fair, since he lives in Florida instead of the state he represents, maybe he doesn’t realize 752,000 Alabamians rely on SNAPβ€”14.6% of the state’s population.

Democrats are a healthy economy. We are good paying union jobs you can raise a family on and infrastructure investment. We are safe schools. Republicans are tax cuts for the Broligarchs and slashing the government jobs of people who work to make your life better.

This video from Portland is a metaphor for what is going on in America. ICE trying so hard to get Americans to cross a line and if they don't, dragging them across the line and violently attacking.

Mr. Thomas E. Austin
Architect of the Capitol
SB-15 U.S. Capitol
U.S. Capitol Building
Washington, DC 20515
Dear Mr. Austin:
On his first day in office, despite warnings from senior Republicans, President Trump
issued a blanket pardon to the more than 1,500 people charged in the deadly January 6, 2021,
insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.1 While these sentences can be erased with the stroke of a pen,
the damage done that day is not so easily repaired. The Capitol complex withstood nearly
millions of dollars in property damage from the insurrectionists who entered the Capitol by force
and in their wake β€œleft windows broken, doors splintered, and paintings stained with pepper
spray and tear gas.”2 The total cost of the insurrection to the taxpayers is estimated to be $2.7
billion, and that does not account for the lives lost due to the violence that day.3 Thanks to
President Trump’s reckless pardons, convicted rioters can not only walk freely, but they also are
no longer required to pay their court-ordered restitutions, much of which was owed directly to
your office.

It's hard to overstate how fully engaged Chicago and the surrounding suburbs are in this ICE madness. There are neighborhood watch alerts, spontaneous crowds gathering outside schools at pick up & drop off plus madly blowing whistles and honking car horns, this city is fighting back and hard.

A horizontal bar chart titled β€œ19 climate-friendly choices, ranked” shows actions individuals can take to reduce their carbon footprint, ordered from most to least impactful. The x-axis represents projected impact in tons of COβ‚‚ equivalent per capita per year (tCOβ‚‚e/cap/yr), ranging from 0 to about 2.5. Each action is color-coded by sector: transportation (blue), energy (orange), and food (green).

Go car-free – highest impact (blue bar extending to about 2.5 tCOβ‚‚e).

Fly less (blue, about 1.5).

Shift to renewable home energy (orange, about 1.4).

Switch to EV or hybrid car (blue, about 1.2).

Go vegan (green, about 1.0).

Walk, bike, or take transit more (blue).

Make energy-efficient renovations (orange).

Use clean cooking equipment (orange).

Go vegetarian (green).

Shift driving habits (e.g., carpooling) (blue).

Increase telecommuting (blue).

Shift to regional/seasonal diet (green).

Move to energy-efficient home (orange).

Decrease food waste (green).

Eat less meat (green).

Use less energy at home (orange).

Reduce packaged food, dining out (green).

Use energy-efficient appliances (orange).

Compost – least impact (green, under 0.1).

A note clarifies that these are meta-analytic estimates of greenhouse gas reduction potentials, drawn from 659 estimates across 47 academic journal articles. The average person emits 6.28 tonnes of COβ‚‚e per year, though this varies widely by income and country. Wealthier populations may emit up to 110 tonnes per year, while lower-income populations may emit as little as 1.6 tonnes.
