VS Code: Open Source AI Editor We will open source the GitHub Copilot Chat extension. It’s the next step towards making VS Code an open source AI editor.

Love that the VS Code team has decided to open source the GitHub Copilot Chat extension!
Looking forward to digging into the code to see how features like agent mode and MCP tools are implemented.
Maybe I can even find a way to contribute. (Time to up my TypeScript game!)

Yes there were people trying to get heard about the layoffs, but for me, that is not the way to do it and the wrong venue.

The layoffs @microsoft.com take their toll... People disturbed the Keynote start #Msbuild - thia is a first. This is not the way to make your voice heard.
