Gutted to have missed the Liverpool launch of The Nerve due to celebrating my mother’s birthday - would that I could have made this the party to be at! Can’t wait to get stuck into today’s issue.

The new world order is exactly what it looks like. Are we too frozen with fear to name it? | Zoe Williams The truth is paralysing. But after JD Vance met the far-right leader Alice Weidel in Germany, it is time to be clear about what we are seeing, writes Zoe Williams

I’m once again appreciative of @zoesqwilliams.bsky.social today. She stresses the importance of naming what we’re seeing, hearing & experiencing on the world stage & reminds us of the power of social dreaming as a tool to understand the impact of events. We all need to #bemoreZoe

A day full of enormous animals.A giant floof with his fur up on end thanks to upholstery static & the mechanical bull at B’ham New St who needs an engineer to recover. I was meeting the regional director of engineering for Network Rail, so I had a word… The Culture Fix in action 😉 tiny.cc/gmn6001

Late to the party watching #Rivals
Realised just in time for bed that Rupert Campbell-Black/Alex Hassell looks uncommonly like Woody from Toy Story crossed with a Moai. Phew, sleepless night averted 🤣

Doing advent cocktails with a friend. The roll call so far: a gin sour, a mistake in the shape of a shop bought ‘pink ting-a-ling’ 🥴, a last word, and, tonight, a new concoction for me - a tootsie roll. Surprisingly coffee like on the palate. Cracking accompaniment to a mince pie though 😋

As a middle-class woman of a certain age, all I can say is: ‘Thank you, Gregg Wallace’ | Zoe Williams In trying to write his accusers off based on their age, sex and class, the TV presenter has made his disdain for people like me plain to see, writes Zoe Williams

@zoesqwilliams.bsky.social absolutely brilliant here. Her final line is gold.

‘What many of us feel’: why ‘enshittification’ is Macquarie Dictionary’s word of the year The committee’s honourable mentions went to ‘right to disconnect’ and ‘rawdogging’

This seems like an appropriate link for my BlueSky debut 😆 Keeping all things crossed that our ‘disenshittification’ era starts right here…
