I'm hoping Team Cherry releases a full explanation of what the hell happened here. Or at least that @noclipvideo.bsky.social does a documentary

A whole lot of people still believe that games journalists are being bribed to give stuff positive scores.

Games journalists are, almost universally, broke-ass weirdos in it almost purely for the love of the game. Nobody's getting paid under the table. If anyone was, word would get out SO quick.

Freedom To Buy Join the 48-hour giveaway and stand for the freedom to buy games.

This is extremely cool. GOG is taking a stand against payment processors caving to fundamentalist religious groups and is offering a bunch of "banned" games for free.

Latest from Killer Train:
FECR is suing Brightline for β€œclandestinely” negotiating with county governments to add more trains to its rails in violation of a contract agreement between the two companies.

As many of you know, Steam and Itch are being threatened by an anti-nsfw group in order to force them to remove any content they deem distasteful by petitioning Visa and MasterCard, who are threatening these gaming platforms to cut payment access if they do not remove the games.

Shooty Shooty Robot Invasion is extremely good, funny and dumb as a sack of hammers.

Also they just added Y-invert so us weird-brained folks can enjoy it too without requiring rewiring our muscle memory.

Folks wasting their energy arguing if itch or steam is worse, or what group is hurt more or all this other nonsense. Such a waste.

Who cares. One group is trying to enact harm and has weaponized payment providers. Keep the focus on that smh.

I do firmly believe that refusing to outsource your basic cognitive functions to LLMs right now - as so many are stumbling over themselves to do right now, like hogs trotting to a pile of slop that’s been set up inside of a butcher’s delivery truck - will very much pay off in a few years.

It is incredibly on brand for Doral that it looks like the majority of its central Park looks paved. Very cool park nonetheless! But it's lacking in green space imo

I felt weirdly emotional when Walter goes "You're the only one who can do this 621" or when Ayre said "Walter believes in you, I believe in you."

They knew how to get you pumped for a fight

Funny enough, the Demise fight at the end of Skyward Sword does it for me. Something about collecting the lightning with the master sword to wreck him was burned into my brain.

9. If you use Al to write something for you, it is meaningless and we'd all be better off if you had never said anything in the first place.

This is the thing: Writing is meaning. The reason we write things is to express some sort of meaning, to pass along important information, to convey a human emotion or sensation. It doesn't matter whether the writing is grammatically correct, or vividly expressed. It matters that it came from you. That is the point of writing. If you ask a Chatbot to write something for you, you are being fundamentally unhuman and foundationally dishonest. I am not going to bend on this one. If it requires an Al bot for you to express something to me, you and I are probably not actually friends.

My personal top platformer of all time.

I remember seeing the commercial with a guy in a Mario mascot costume cleaning up with a group of kids and I was mesmerized.

I got it as a gift with my GameCube and I played it nonstop. I can still go back and play through it without getting bored.

Some reaction to our investigation today.

Context - yesterday as we were getting ready to publish, another person was hit and killed. So we had to update the numbers. This entire project has been like this.
