Last week we hosted our UN Day reception in partnership with the Slovenian Embassy, marking 80 years since the Charter came into force.
We were delighted to present the Sir Brian Urquhart Award to @unrwa.org Chief of Staff Ben Majekodunmi, recognising over 3 decades of dedicated service to the UN.
UNA-UK has existed throughout the lifespan of the UN itself; we continue to work for a world where the Charter’s promise becomes reality, and multilateralism is reinvigorated for the future.

As the world grieves today, we recall the preamble to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, written shortly after the horrors of WWII:
That “recognition of the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world…”
This harrowing anniversary also marks two years since the start of Israel’s onslaught on Gaza. We mourn the killing of more than 67,000 Palestinians and deplore the decimation of life in Gaza.
