An elderly man with white hair and large glasses, wearing a dark suit, white shirt, and patterned tie, points with a pen at a wall of multiple CRT monitors labeled CAM 3, CAM 6, CAM 9, CAM 10, and others. The screens display hockey game footage, including players on ice. Handwritten labels like "GREEN," "ORANGE," "YELLOW," and team names "BROWN" with a bear logo are visible on papers and boards around the monitors in a control room setting.

A black-and-white photograph from the 1972 Summit Series, capturing the Canadian national hockey team's bench huddle during a tense game against the Soviet Union. Ten players in white jerseys with red maple leaf crests and black pants stand clustered together on the ice, leaning in attentively as their coach, with a headset on, gestures emphatically from the sidelines behind the glass. Visible jersey numbers include 6 (likely Brad Park), 19 (Bobby Clarke), 27 (Frank Mahovlich), and 3 (Ron Ellis), with sticks and gloves in hand, evoking the high-stakes drama of the series. The arena crowd blurs in the background.

On Sept. 24, 1972, Canada and the Soviet Union took to the ice in Moscow for the sixth game of the Summit Series.
Canada was down 3-1-1 and needed to win the three remaining games.
The comeback began in Game Six.
This is the story.

Heard many times tonight on CBC that Pierre Poilievre was clearly the most experienced politician among the party leaders as the House of Commons started up again today. I don’t think I heard them mention that it’s because he’s the one who’s never had ANY other job.

And still no security clearance.

This iconic Fabian Todorovic cartoon is still one of the best I’ve seen at illustrating the remarkable amount of space we surrender to cars, leaving little space left for everyone and everything else. The text added later makes the bonus point that many drivers still manage to complain about it.

The Legal Attack on Superblock Barcelona - City Lab Barcelona In this blog post, I attempt to unpack what this court ruling is about, the legal arguments, and who is behind it. Did the city really do something wrong?Β  What will happen to the Consell de Cent proj...

Heard this one? The City of Barcelona traded 3 lanes of vehicle traffic for an exceptional 4.7km green pedestrian corridor in the heart of the Eixample grid. Businesses sued, & eventually won in court. Then they admitted that they actually like the change.

Streets for people are good for business.
