A friend gave me two of his albums on CD, and soon after that the Pink Moon Volkswagen ad came out, which I could really relate to. I was hooked.

Nick's virtual refusal to play live didn't help, and his shows when he did play were often not well received. I also think that Island records didn't put a lot of promotional work into it after the failure of the first two.

51 years ago Nick Drake died by suicide. He was enigmatic reclusive and had severe depression. He recorded 3 albums before retreating from public life. They sold poorly during his life and one can only wonder if had he achieved the success while alive he has since things might have been different

3 years ago this weekend I had the honor to have dinner with @thekatemulgrew.bsky.social. She'd come to Bloomington to see the statue of Captain Janeway that I and a dedicated team had designed, financed and erected. I can attest that Kate was genuine, funny, and a joy to spend time with. #startrek

In early stages of the project some of us were very against a bronze bust because we had all seen the horrible Lucille Ball bust and other failures. When I went to the webpage of the person we choose I could recognize the subject of most of his works immediately and thought 'he's the one'

I love this album. Not a bad track on it.

I was not the sculpture but I was deeply involved in the creation of the statue. Faces are hard, and the sculpture worked really hard to get what he did, which was approved by Paramount and Kate Mulgrew.

Boygenius. In their solo careers they were constantly encouraged to collaborate with men because the men were such a boy geniuses. Phoebe Bridgers, Julien Baker, and Lucy Dacus. In college a roommate pointed out that my album collection was virtually all men. He was right. I've come a long way Tony.

Once upon a time hits from this album were overplayed. Listen closer. Martin Barres's guitar is amazing. Ian Anderson wrote lyrics capturing hypocrisy of a system we still live in today. Wonder'ing Aloud is a masterpiece in the simplest of forms. We have not progressed in 50 years. God save us all.
