Passing of Distinguished Professor Eileen Kowler.
The School of Arts and Sciences, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey
Eileen Kowler was an incredible mentor. She taught me that good science is SLOW, but that progress toward good science happens every single day. She gave all of us in her lab comfy sweatshirts. She made amazing blintzes. She cared about us so much. I will miss her. psych.rutgers.edu/news-events/...

One of my favorite random memories was sitting in on her intro sensation & perception class before I went on to teach it myself. The very first lecture she was literally running back & forth across the room to show the propagation of action potentials! She always had so much energy. I will miss her.

I would most definitely not be where I am today in my career without her and was looking forward to her being a lifelong role model and friend, and only have appreciated her influence on/way of thinking about vision, eye movements, cognition & the scientific process more with time.
