This was originally a poultiggery. The base a home for pigs and the top for hens. The pigs keep the hens warm in winter. A bit of vernacular gorgeousness from Cowside in Langstrothdale, Yorkshire Dales.

New discovery: A #Roman wooden water pipe has been found during works on Brussels Street in Leuven.
At a depth of about 4 meters, archaeologists found the wooden water pipe running the entire length of the construction pit, totaling 20 to 30 meters.ย
