A KG is a semantic network emphasizing meaning, relationships&reasoning, often used in AI&data integration.
A network diagram is a structural representation of connections, often used for visualizing physical/logical systems.
While sharing similarities their goals, content, and applications differ.
A knowledge graph allows for (automatically) drawing inferences based on formal logic. A data graph doesn't. This is also stated on the slide in the picture you are referring to.
