Last weekend, my partner and I went to a large flea market in southwest Ohio. I brought my 35mm camera and a roll of black and white film. Here are the best photos.

A sketchbook portrait of the great Ronnie James Dio from a few years back. Reposted for no other reason than Dio is awesome.

I should probably post something, so here's the first page of a still unfinished comic called "You Don't Have To Do This." It's about a reluctant paladin who is increasingly uncomfortable with the idea of using violence to solve problems. I'll finish it someday.

My partner read, and LOVED, "Our Share of Night." My partner is also currently reading a short story collection by the same author, titled "A Sunny Place for Shady People" and highly recommends it.

Friends, join me in this celebration. For most of June and July, I was on antibiotics. I am finally off of them, and cured, and I am ready to enjoy the first beer I've had in a long time. This is a Sundowner from the excellent Eudora Brewing Co. in Kettering, Ohio.

At dawn a flying bomb falls on the church, killing them both.

1 of 2

A sailor wandering London during a World War II air-raid finds a newborn baby in the debris. He takes refuge with the child in an empty church, where it amazes him by levitating and speaking. A dialogue follows between the child, fresh from eternity, and the man mired in the temporal world.

Sometimes I like to refer to a meatball sub as a "seatball mub."

The best way I can do that is through my comics, because I think that is the best way for me to tell stories and really connect with people.

I've been dealing with a lot of Parkinson's-related mental health challenges for the last few months, so I've resumed talk therapy. My therapist is strongly encouraging me to channel some of my trauma and anxiety into my art.

This comic is not related to my trauma but it is something I'm proud of, and perhaps a good way for me to reintroduce my comics to social media. This is a comic adaptation of a poem by Mervyn Peake titled "Simple, Seldom and Sad."

The Oniscidae, better known as woodlice, are a subgroup of isopod crustaceans whose role is to remove harmful heavy metals from the earth, such as mercury, cadmium, and lead. They help cleanse the soil and groundwater, reaffirming the wisdom of nature. Do not harm them or spray pesticides!

Today, for "Because You Demanded It," I reread "All Star Superman" issue 6...the funeral of Pa Kent. Then I cried like a baby. Why do some of the best and truest stories hurt so much?

Finally you understand my pain. I'm so dreadfully weary of all the "it fits together like a jeweled puzzle box" nonsense.
