Populism generally refers to politics that take an 'us vs the elite' framing. While starmer isnt exactly performing populism his policies are very much in reaction to another party that is. Its also a neutral term as it can reflect reality or distort it depending who 'us' and 'the elite' are.

I dont disagree but these movies are successful, hugely so. Its just never enough for these companies it seems.

Im currently onto series 2 of B5 ands its striking how much worse the opening looks compared to the first series. Its not that the cg got worse, but its more ambitious in ways that do it no favours imo. Majestic far away shots of the station work a lot better!

Ultimately the cosmology of stranger things was best when we had no idea what was happening or why. The upsideown in series 5 was not scary. I dont think we saw a single monster there this season outside the military base fight. Certainly saw no monsters in the abyss, home if the monsters.

Vecna was a pretty bad villain, revealing that he was actually not in charge at all and was a thrall of the mindflaywer was rather undercut by the reveal the mindflayer was his house all along and then it went down to some bullets after they set its face on fire a bit.

I finally watched the ending of stranger things and it was about what i expected. Toothless and silly. Idk why anyone got mad about it tbh, i liked series 1 the best and its been a slow decline since but there was no way they'd bring it back around tonally.
