Tomatoes 🍅 are at last ripening - we have a couple of cool ones in there this year - the black and gold ones are called indigo gold berries - they are very cute

This one is called Love 💕 Always - a lovely pink and white floribunda.

Not in our garden luckily - near Rotorua about 500km north of Wellington

NZ is a young country and as a result we have a lot of seismic activity like earthquakes and volcanoes

We also have wonderful mud pools

Whilst the tree is growing here in NZ it is native to the South west of Australia. It’s a favourite because I’m from that part of Australia and it always reminds me of home.

Today’s rose - again from the Wellington Botanical gardens is named after a city here in NZ - the city of Hamilton which is famous for its gardens.

Given the state of the world at the moment it feels like we need something pure and peaceful - so here it is the perfect White Rose - 🌹 Pascali

Fragrant - white with cream centre hybrid tea - just perfect

This little fella was stuck inside yesterday - luckily I found a bit of cloth for him to cling too - so he could be transferred back into the garden.

He’s lovely but his job is too important to be inside.

It’s one of my favourite times of the year - when the black Doris plums ripen.

This is NZ’s favourite plum - it’s a Japanese plum - its skin is almost black in colour - fruit heart shaped and sweet.

Hard to get in the supermarket so feel really lucky we have our own tree

Today’s rose is a scarlet red hybrid tea with a lovely fragrance- it’s aptly called Romeo

A European robin stands upright on a soft layer of fresh snow, its bright orange-red breast glowing against the wintery whites and muted browns. Yellow hybrid tea - diamonds forever

A red admiral butterfly with wings partly open feeds on bright yellow butterfly bush flowers, its dark, scalloped wings patterned with bold red bands and small white spots.
