Farage rejects Polanskis request for tv debate as Gorton byelection heats up
Gorton & Denton is between the Green Party and Reform.
And Farage knows his candidate is weak as.
Hannah Spencer for the win.

Oh, and
4. Despite the demand for proportional representation from Labour members, Starmer won't change
our ridiculous First Past the Post system. So he's in no position to blame anyone for "splitting the vote".

Hannah Spencer - our Mancunian plumber who knows the value of work.
We're fighting back.

Hannah is just brilliant. She's funny, smart, VERY hard working, knows how to get her point across, and doesn't take no for any answer. What else could you want? π

The Green Party have got Hannah the local plumber!"

Thanks to amazing team who came canvassing in Denton with me today - we had a lot of fun & fab reception on the doorsteps π. And if anyone is still (weirdly) thinking of voting Labour - one more Labour backbencher will make no difference - the first Green MP from Manchester would be transformative πͺ

Farage hopes he can breeze into power without scrutiny. But his racism, corrupt donations, shady links to Russia and MAGA⦠make it harder for him to hide. And his tantrum reactions to being challenged reveal him for the nasty inadequate he really is.

Vital to ask about this idea of "radicalism" - radical is actually what this Labour Government are doing.
Protecting the interests of the super rich over people and nature.

Zack Polanskis insane economics
The country wants a wealth tax on assets.
They're panicking because "won't the rich just leave" has been utterly debunked.
They've got no actual argument.

Striking in this debate hosted by @krishgm.bsky.social how many people in the comments are saying that a wealth tax at this point is so obvious.
Is it any surprise that the Labour Governments response is to continually try and take swipes at the Green Party?

The stupidity of Farageβs latest βplanβ is staggering.
Claiming theyβd save British taxpayers money by ripping up international commitments and starting a trade war with Europe is the puerile foot-stamp of a party that uses prejudice as policy. Ruinous nonsense.

The radical measures are part of a much-publicised reform of the asylum system, billed by the government as "the most sweeping reforms in modern times", as Labour looks to see off the threat of Reform UK and Nigel Farage. But critics have hit out at the proposals, warning any move to alter how the UK interprets the rules will drive asylum seekers underground and leave them vulnerable to exploitation. Sile Reynolds, the head of asylum advocacy at Freedom from Torture, said the changes "will punish people who've already lost everything".
Ms Reynolds, of Freedom from Torture, added: "Every day we see the trauma of people who have survived torture in countries like Syria, Eritrea and Sudan for standing up for the same freedoms we cherish in Britain. Instead of offering safety, political parties are locked in a race to the bottom - trying to outdo one another in cruelty towards refugees. "These proposals will punish people who've already lost everything, cutting them off from safety and hope. But either we all have human rights, or none of us do. Stripping away protections that prevent people being sent back to their torturers is not who we are as a country. This is a cynical attempt to scapegoat vulnerable people to win political points. We can and must do better."
Labour concocts more ugly measures to punish asylum seekers and the right immediately demands worse⦠howling to leave the ECHR.
This scapegoating of migrants must stop. It is failure - morally and practically.

The Green Party announces that former Labour MP, Lloyd Russell-Moyle, has defected to them, after being de-selected by Keir Starmer's party last year
"My old party has left behind millions of people who want hope... In the Greens I see a party that is offering that," says Russell-Moyle
βIt isnβt people seeking sanctuary who are tearing our country apart. Itβs toxic, racist narratives and the scapegoating of migrants for crises they did not cause.β

Itβs like Polanski has broken a spell. This is great if you care about human dignity and wellbeing but definitely threatening to those in power.
All strength to him.
