For the topping, it's most like a German chocolate cake. I combined toasted coconut with sweetened condensed milk, then baked all together in the oven.

I made a Tres Leches cake, soaked in Earl Grey tea

It's a sponge cake soaked in three milks (evaporated, condensed, and whole milk). To get the tea flavor, I heated up the whole milk and steeped it with 4 tea bags. Yum~

I soaked the apples in cognac and brown sugar for 3 days, which was delicious...but affected the custard texture in hindsight, hah. It's definitely more of a pie-like dessert - 5/5

This was a trial run for a #restaurant. Soft cakes like these are notoriously difficult to serve. In a kitchen where profit margins are very thin, items like these are often nixed from the menu.
Myb I'm more of a traditionalist..I'd rather it be messy ;)

These vanilla cupcakes were always a challenge because of the mango chantilly frosting. To create the swirls, I filled two piping bags with separate colors, cut the ends off, and fed them into one piping bag with a tip. Voila!

#Baking a nature themed wedding cake is probably something I wouldn't do again, but luckily it was for family lol. Here's a #chocolate espresso buttercream cake, with meringue frosting inside. Decorated with mushrooms from gum paste, cake crumbs, and various non-edible foliage.

*How to make any cake a marbled cake*

1. Make a batch of vanilla cake batter
2. Set aside 1/4 and mix in a flavoring or food color
3. Pour white batter into your greased pan, then add flavored batter in blobs on top
4. Swirl with a toothpick or chopstick till it's streaky
5. Bake and enjoy

Made this today with #sourdough discard - it's a #zuchinni #cake with cream cheese frosting, baked in a tube pan. I used the recipe here: littlespoonfarm.com/sourdough-zu... In my exp, the sourdough gives the cake a unique flavor and produces more of a muffin-like texture. 🍰
