Yeah it's really funny how close apart all these games were. Ys 3 PS2 released only a few months before Oath in Felghana did! Taito even ported 4 and 5 to mobile phones.

Genuinely who would buy it at that price I can't imagine collectors being *that* rich to drop so much for one game.

Ys 6 on PS2 (and PSP) was handled by Konami while 3-5 were by Taito.

I heard that Digicube had plans to localize their port of Ys 1 & 2 but it didn't happen for some reason.

At least soon enough Ys 5 PS2 will get a fan translation released!

Basically, it's a lot easier to just make a fandub to a PCE-CD game than hacking in subtitles, so there's a fandub in progress for Popful Mail. You can find more info here www.castingcall.club/projects/pop... (it's also a paid deal!)

Also the Popful Mail fandub is going well! Audio extraction and reinsertion works perfectly thanks to the work of others!

In other news, I finally came up with a name for the Discord server. Before it was "Kaisaan Ys Stuff" but now it's called "The Dandelion" because I love Ys 9 lol. It's also a better fitting name even though the old one was technically accurate LOL.

Lost Kefin update: Graphics extraction and re-insertion has been fully automated now! The edited graphics is now built automatically. All I have left to do is fix crashes and then the game will be ready for betatesting! Thank you everyone for your support!

As I am getting closer to finishing all the technical work for Lost Kefin's translation, I have realized that this game is *very* jank even from a hacking standpoint.

I know the game itself is also very jank but that is okay too.

I definitely plan on working on both too eventually! Ys 3 should be easier to do since it uses similar file formats as Ys 5 (including the custom graphics format.) For Ys 4 I found some hacking scripts online already but I still need to figure out more stuff. Hopefully I can get them done too!
