The only #starwars show I think was just bad...was Boba Fett.
There was no reason for that show to have been...what it was.
Acolyte was uneven (both in story and acting) but it had story potential, conflicted jedi, and awesome saber battles.

Now that Kathy is transitioning out, it's time @infinata.bsky.social ...for my big pitch!
Let me tell the story of 20K years ago: The Great AI Slop Saga...where the GFFA is trust into chaos and war as everyone is attached to galactic social media and have fried their collective minds.

There's no priesthood trying to claim the official truth of the Light.
The closest we get are the Whitecloaks.
I've started my reread and I'm in the beginning of book1, and had a thought that WoT is one of the few fantasy worlds where there is no actual religion.
The Light and Shadow exist in real terms...but there are no churches or sects or even religious observances in the same way we have.
In all honesty though, an exploration of WoT and the gender dynamics would be interesting.
As a young man, the honor culture defined in the world spoken to me about what it means to be a man, brotherhood, purpose, etc. It also showed the dangers of taking that too far.

Where were the Demos? Gorgons, dogs, bats...why was the upside down, Vecna, the Abyss...empty of any other creatures?
Why was the Abyss empty of any vines at all?
Still some big Lore questions out there (ignored or left purposefully unanswered)

Given the Mind Flayer particles flew up out of the kids...the Hive Mind *could* still be alive.
The Mind Flayer was shown as a cloud even in the finale, so spider-zilla could have been another one of so many creatures
Who knows how many of those things existed on that planet
Eleven's fate - ...I'm torn here. I get why they did it. I get that it's the real sacrifice of the finale. But...it doesn't sit quite right with me. Of course that very sentiment is voiced by one of the character so... π€·ββοΈπ ...ok 8/10.
01.01.2026 20:26 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0My #strangerthings5 finale score is 8.5/10.
The show overall had some missteps I feel started with how S3 ended..and it hampered the storytelling and pacing.
Emotional pay off for characters - 9.75/10
Big Battle - 7.5/10
Effective use of secondary baddies - 1/10
Wrapping up lore - 6.5/10
That's why they wrote Mike out of the show after S3. ππ

My hot take is that like high level dnd campaigns, they are now leveled up so much with a fortress HQ, resources, and hirelings...the DM (writers) can't put them in enough danger. π

30.12.2025 03:12 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I just get a hankering for the first half of the series...up through book 7. Dumai's Wells is π₯
First trilogy (1-3) is a great
2nd trilogy (4-6) is peak
The slog (7-10) has really great moments
11 is RJs last and a return to form
The Sanderson trilogy (12-14) is as good as one could expect
Could be because I first read them in them in the 90s when I was a teen...and it's like visiting old friends...
30.12.2025 02:18 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I've decided that I will be restarting my reread(audio) of #thewheeloftime instead of finishing the last 75% of book 14.
It's been over a year since I started my reread and...I feel like don't need to dwell on the ending.
I think I'd rather go back and visit the beginning
Book 10 was the only WoT by Jordan that I didn't read when it was published.
I read it was basically the same chronology as the 9th book but different perspectives and...I just waited until book 11 and then read them both.
It was a good idea.
Gotta be a "troll" π

Would have been interesting to see Palpatine reach out to a mature adult Anakin because he was a genuine threat as he rose to power within the Jedi. Anakin's ambition and power were a possible threat...so Palpatine decides to manipulate and corrupt him to keep him under control.
30.12.2025 02:01 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0for the holidays: I went blog mode on my modern Star Wars pet peeve: people quoting Kylo Ren like heβs right

LF can't even seem to decide whether learning the Force is like the Xmen...the powers manifest innately at some point...or like a samurai where the techniques need to learned and mastered to connect to the Force.
Or even how much M-count matters vs anyone being able to learn.
It feels like a mess.
I think most fans would support this (i mean it's basically EU Luke's Jedi)...but it would require LF committing to moving beyond what George Lucas said the Jedi/Force ways were meant to be.
Reforming the attachment rule for example is in direct conflict with what Lucas laid out (stupid as it was).
Not sure how big a contingent it is. π€·ββοΈ
But it was at the tail end of the EU and had kinda gotten to the point where fans were asking "hasn't this family been through enough?" / "how many galactic governments can fall/rise in one lifetime" π
I appreciate that Daisy has tip-toed up to the role that Mark held from when the ST was announced until very recently...as the primary Star Wars ambassador.
I hope she really gets to shape Rey and I hope her movie ends up in her being the "Iron Man" of SW, showing up all over the NJO.
