One thing I’ve learned in my never ending job search is that “let me know if you need anything” CLEARLY means “let me know if you wanna get drinks sometime” or “I’ll refer you to ONE position at my company.” It’s not “let me look over your resume”, “let me talk to my friend at Google”.

That’s the thing I hate. They hire people with business management/HR degrees who have never worked in the industry a day in their life and they don’t know what to look for/can’t answer the questions I ask. I think for specific jobs, you should have recruiters who were formerly in the industry

This is illegal, and yes this is the same guy who claimed he'd never heard of Project 2025. But there's a larger point to make here about public service. No one who wins elected office wins 100% of the vote. But everyone who holds public office represents 100% of their electorate.
