Or one might confuse one's tactic as a principle, going to others employing different tactics—which are appropriate to their situation—and telling them they are wasting their time, admonishing them to employ one's own tactic—which may NOT be appropriate to their situation.

Second, effective tactics spring from principles, not principles from tactics. Those who begin with tactics confuse one for another; treating a principle as if it were a tactic to consider and reject, which is how you get an alleged opposition party ignoring or abandoning marginalized people.

Anti-fascists of all stripes would do so much better to advocate for principles than for tactics.

First, tactics are situational; what might make sense for one won't make sense for most others. Principles apply broadly, and can suggest the right tactic for the situation.
