The Trump Administration's plan to put thousands of Marylanders on the streets is horrific. These vulnerable Marylanders need support, not cruelty.

With the launch of the Blue Line Corridor Coalition and the state's historic investment in this community, we have the opportunity to create bold, transformative change for those who have too often been unheard and left behind.

Last night showed that Democrats are not just winning elections but building a movement focused on serving working class Americans and rejecting Trump's extreme agenda.

For too long, these residents have been left behind, and today showed that those days are behind us.
29.10.2025 17:31 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0This morning saw the launch of the Blue Line Corridor Coalition! This community group will convene local stakeholders and resources to ensure that, as we continue with our historic investment into this historic community, we are putting resident voices and needs out front first.
29.10.2025 17:31 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Tens of thousands of Marylanders stand to see their premiums skyrocket because of Trump and Republican inaction.
It's time they start protecting healthcare rather than billionaires.

The death of Mr. Mealy in DPSCS's custody and Mr. Hoskins' letter are deeply disturbing and troubling. The Mealy family and the people of Maryland deserve answers and a thorough investigation.

Ingrassia may no longer be nominated, but he is still employed by Trump, while so many upstanding and good public servants have been fired. That is unacceptable!

Wishing a very happy birthday to my friend, Governor Wes Moore!
15.10.2025 16:59 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0While Trump continues to pretend to keep Americans safe, he actually keeps making decisions that do the opposite, and cutting anti-terrorism funds is just another example.

Had a great morning joining so many great community leaders for the announcement of state funding for a number of affordable housing projects across the state including right here in Capitol Heights.
We are getting work done to ensure more Marylanders can afford housing!
In District 24, more than 17,000 Marylanders rely on SNAP benefits which are now under assault by Trump and extremist Republicans.
Democrats cannot stand by while so many lose the benefits that they depend on, and we will continue fighting back!
To my neighbors: We see you. We hear you. And weβre fighting for you. Maryland will remain a place of opportunity, diversity, and resilience.
12.08.2025 12:58 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Our priorities are clear:
Protect Marylandβs economy
Support workers & families
Push back on harmful policies
Stand with every Marylander
The Attorney General has filed 34 legal actions to protect our economy, our funding, and our communities β from defending privacy to fighting unfair federal overreach.
12.08.2025 12:58 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0But Maryland isnβt standing still. The Comptroller is building tools to help businesses & nonprofits plan for these economic shocks.
12.08.2025 12:58 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Immigration enforcement is also ramping up. Since January, ICE has arrested ~1,500 people in Maryland. Six in ten had no criminal convictions β most with traffic infractions. Families are being torn apart.
12.08.2025 12:58 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Federal jobs are only 6% of our workforce but make up 10% of our wages. Losing them shakes the foundation of our economy.
12.08.2025 12:58 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Since January, Maryland has lost 13,000 federal jobs β the biggest drop in 30 years. These arenβt just numbers. Theyβre families, paychecks, and communities feeling the loss.
12.08.2025 12:58 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Maryland is getting hit hard by recent federal policy changes β but weβre fighting back. Hereβs what you need to know. π§΅
12.08.2025 12:58 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The Trump Administration continues to show that it doesn't care about the law, as it continues to detain many law-abiding members of our community in deplorable conditions for days at a time, rather than targeting actual dangerous criminals.

I had a great time this morning in both Charles and Calvert County touring their Child Advocacy Centers. These county institutions do amazing work in bringing together resources and services for children and families in Southern Maryland.
04.08.2025 19:01 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Trump continues to show he will do anything to hide the fact that his policies are hurting the economy and working Americans.
Firing the BLS Chief is just one more example.

The evidence is clear: too many Marylanders cannot find affordable housing.
We need to do much more to ensure that housing is not out of reach for those who are looking to put down roots in our great state.

This is why we passed the Protect Our Federal Workers Act, because we knew the Trump Administration would be targeting these Maryland workers, and our state needs to stand alongside these civil servants.

It was wonderful to join our Governor yesterday for the signing of an executive order to advance environmental justice in Maryland. For far too long, certain communities have borne the worst of the impacts of pollution.
These communities need all of us to act.
Today marks 5 years since we lost the great Representative John Lewis. I had the opportunity to meet with this civil rights hero as a staffer to Congressman Hoyer. I remain inspired by his story, his vision, and his years of tireless advocacy.
Let's make some good trouble.
This Supreme Court ruling will not just devastate the livelihoods of federal workers, but it will gut many of the essential services that everyday Americans depend on from government agencies, right when people need them most.

We will use every tool available to ensure this project moves forward as plannedβbecause our community deserves these jobs, our state deserves this investment, and the FBI deserves a headquarters worthy of their service to our country.
01.07.2025 23:32 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Let me be clear: moving the headquarters just down the street in D.C. ignores the real security threats our FBI faces and leaves their workforce vulnerable.
I have been proud to fight for this headquarters alongside our federal partners, and I will not back down now.
