3 children, part-time job, PhD, exercise, housework, feeding family! Just so much!

Does anyone have a magic way of fitting everything into their lives? Asking for a friend!

(There just aren’t enough hours in the day)

Unexpectedly lost a writing day today. I can definitely feel that I’m right back in it, because I am a bit sad.

Do get to play with the 15 month old I stead though, and she’s the best.

My MacBook has died 😭😭

Knowing that your University is about to mess up your supervision but having to wait until their “consultation” period is over before they can actually tell you for sure that they are messing up your supervision, is not fun times! How am I supposed to focus with that going on?!

I spend far too long on thesaurus’ when I’m writing 🙈

It is my first official day back to PhD-ing! Where do I start?! I think I’ve forgotten how to do it, haha

Also, I’m getting old, I would quite like to earn some decent-ish money, to make our family a slightly more comfortable.

Realisation that I am re-enrolling and therefore have to get this PhD done! Two baby breaks is enough I think.

I mean no idea what I’ll actually do post-PhD, clearly nothing academic (there are no jobs) but I would love to put my skills to use if I can.

⭐️That’s so true. And even just reading feels overwhelming right now, so a limited amount will hopefully help that.

That’s great advice, the idea of sitting down and doing it feels very overwhelming, so that approach would be much better.

Has anyone ever had a prolonged break for their research/ writing? I had hoped keep my head in the thesis a bit more than I have, but unforeseen family matters (illnesses, hospital stays, etc) have meant that I really haven’t touched it for along time. Any advice on returning to it?

My eldest baby has only 2.5 days left of primary school. Tonight we went to her Year 6 performance; she was magnificent ❤️

Currently waiting out half an hour to eat my wrap because I also took silly “empty stomach” antibiotics. At least they will make me better and make it so that when I do eat it won’t feel like someone is slicing at my tonsils with a very tiny, but very real, sword.
