Honestly? My intro to sci-fi literature was a couple Foundation books, and they were super boring.

My first fantasy book was a Dragonlance Book, Covenant of the Forge. Which was a lot of fun.

I read some sci-fi, but tons of fantasy. Wonder why.

I still like to read, but I've never re-read anything school made me read. Mostly because they make the process terrible.

The Three Musketeers was my favorite book growing up. Had an abridged version at age 6, read the full version in middle school. Still one of my faves.

I love Dave Bautista in Guardians of the Galaxy, which makes it difficult to imagine him playing a villain. But I'm ready to give him a chance.

How it started, July 5th, 2025: Found this Night Lords book at the used bookstore, might as well try it.

How it's going, July: I've been listening to a 40k lore podcast and went to 4 bookstores and a Games Workshop for more books.

I'm going to see RoboCop, but I think The Lost Boys is a solid movie that holds up the best over time.

Made the mistake of getting on my political account yesterday and ended up embroiled in the hellhole where people on the Left eat each other based on various purity tests for 24 hours.

I need to stop doing that.

That's a cardio workout for sure.

I'm personally of the opinion that if you spend 8 hours or more in the same position, it's probably bad for you. I think sitting at a desk is fine if you get up and walk around every so often. But 8+ hours on your feet can wear on you too.

As of now, LLMs are training using human-created content.

How long until the LLMs start training humans? When trying to make an AI think like a person flips to AIs training humans to think an AI.

I'm playing Cyberpunk 2077 again, and I still love this game.

But the number of people who will stumble backwards ten feet into your car while trying to "avoid" getting hit by your car is crazy.

What's even more interesting is that the "if you don't like it, then leave" crowd is the same people saying to immigrants escaping terrible conditions, "go back to where you came from."

I think Pacific Rim did alright. Mostly the Idris Elba character, the scientists running around trying to jack into a kaiju brain, and Ron Perlman's black market kaiju parts business.

I'm watching the One Piece Dressrosa Arc, and I'm way too invested in this will they, won't they subplot between Baby 5 and Sai.

Makes me wonder how much of an advance George R.R. Martin gets, and how mad his publisher will be when he kicks the bucket before finishing Winds of Winter.

You'd be surprised. The introduction of caffeine helped create 24-hour work programs in major industries. And increased productivity. Common workplace drinks shifted from alcohol to tea/coffee. Caffeine had major impacts on the Industrial Revolution.

I started Lord of the Rings with Two Towers from my middle school library. It all worked out.
