Every summer, over 26 million teens head to camp—in our home, the rule is simple: choose how you want to grow and learn!

Gretta came home and spent the holiday evening with us. She got soaked in a water balloon war, played capture the flag, lit fireworks with cousins. It was a great evening.

The UofUtah has 100+ departments across 18 colleges. Robbie’s love for birds started young—always running off to the Lorikeets, Keas, and Macaws at Tracy Aviary. 🦜 His curiosity knew no fences. Now he’s back, watching Ibis eggs hatch. Full circle.

Gretta and her roommate Abbie (from UofU dorms) explored the Utah State Capitol last night and loved it—now they’re eager for a tour! 🏛️👯‍♀️ At UBSI, not sure what they’re learning yet, but Gretta says Abbie’s a beautiful dancer. Both seem to be embracing the experience and growing through it. 🩰✨

☔️ 45° in Salt Lake County this morning. The weather’s been yo-yoing all week. Luka 🐾 is confused why we stopped for pics instead of walking.

This was just a quick break between my early Sunday classes—still three more to go in Saudi. Let’s see how my students are doing.

Grandma Vera Nelson Hendrix moved from Brigham City to SoCal in WWII-she never shared her age-nthr do I. SLC’s 65+ crowd is 11.9% & growing. Dad’s 80 and gunning for 100. Robbie kps my folks’ patios walk-ready. A techy recliner arrived—he claimed the classic.

In SLCounty about 21% of land is privately owned farmland. As of 2024, 31,925 ag pecks, 17,300 frms, 10.5M acres. In UT, it’s common to see farmland next to neighborhoods. Near to our home, there’s a small farm where we make cow friends. 🐮 This is our newest buddy-young and spunky. Happy Friday! 🐄

☀️🇸🇦 It’s finals week for middle & high schools in Saudi! They have a full week off to study—college-style. Asmaa (stud) & I studied for her English exam. She’s bright, opinntd! ☀️ She has her Arabic and Soc Studs exams left!

Turkey: 87.6M ppl, 23.3M kids. My students from here express themselves well. This is Kerem—bright, curious—my student from Ankara. Teaching globally shows me: kids bring culture, curiosity, connection, honestly, grace. What if we did that more in the U.S.? Change starts one relationship at a time.

Robbie started volunteering at Tracy Aviary aka The Aviary this morning. He shared that he met and fed the large white pelicans. He will help clean the cages and their dishes and feed the birds. He grew up at The Aviary! I am so happy that he is happy!!! 🦅

Cherry, stud in Seoul, shared this video—her grandpa is in it. They recovered the remains of an uncle who fight in the Korean War, at the Battle of Hill 734 near Jeokgeun Mtn. Her family will attend a service Wed, at the Nat’l Dept of Defense honoring the soldiers.

☀️ Sundays start at 5:00 am and I teach until 9:00 am. Luka is patiently sleeping, waiting for a walk. If know know someone who could use the support of other women, I hold a women’s group every Sunday at noon. 🙂

☀️ Robbie joined us on morning walk 🐾 — and this evenings we will go on a longer adventure.

Today started with a new student-Leo from Beijing! Years ago, I taught FT during China’s COVID lockdowns—1–9 AM! Eventually, I shifted to our fam biz, GreenTeaHP for better health and balance. W/ 2 new students from China, I’m curious-what’s changing? Luka & I are out for a walk. Have a great day!☀️

She’s betrayed the Dem Party or has she realized that the vision, strategy, and action plans of the Dem Party is not evolving quick enough to build necessary relationships to make significant long term change? The Dem Party strategizes and moves in small groups. It’s more divided than ever.

Luka is keeping me moving this summer - 2 walks a day, before and after work! He takes the best pics! 🐾

I honor and remember the service of my grandfathers, Charles Fannin, Fred Hendrix, and Percy Clifford, and my Fannin uncles—Bryant, Granville, Gerald, Frank—aunt Mable Nielson Percy and Pons Percy. They served during WWII. Their legacy of service is enshrined in the U.S. Constitution, lives on.

The Hillcrest High School Theatre Department has done a knockout job with Cymbeline! Robbie is one cool, nice person. He has this remarkable opportunity to be part of this larger experience. I am incredible proud of him. #hillcresthighschool

Utah House District 46 Leadership in the Salt Lake County Democratic Party invited me to their planning meeting. The thrilling thing is that we a full slate of candidates running for every leadership position in HD 46. Their focus is building community. The discussion and strategizing was solid.

Meet Jahn Curran. He’s our good friends. He’s an advocate and leader. He challenges me and expects us to advocate for others. He talks all about NASA and prehistoric fossils with Robbie. He shows me that it’s good to evolve as an ind’l & relationships can heal. Everyone needs a Jahn in their life.

I’m so proud of Robbie! He’s worked hard this year on Stage Crew and his studies. Last week he finished his 12th Gr LA and is finishing 11th Gr this month. He has also been my assistant! He’s like a bottle of fine wine - He cont.s to gets better with age. How fortunate am I to have Robbie as my son.
